Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has made it compulsory training for channel partners to clear the RERA exam in order to register with the authority. The RERA exam is designed to test the knowledge and understanding of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) and its rules and regulations.
It is important for channel partners to clear the RERA exam to comply with the regulatory requirements and maintain their professional credibility in the real estate industry.
Here are some details about the RERA exam for channel partners in Maharashtra:
- Eligibility: Any individual or entity that acts as an intermediary in the sale or purchase of real estate projects, such as property dealers, brokers, or agents, is considered a channel partner and is required to take the RERA exam.
- Exam Format: The RERA exam for channel partners is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) based online exam. It consists of 50 questions and has a duration of one hour. The passing score for the exam is 40%.
- Syllabus: The RERA exam syllabus for channel partners includes topics such as the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, RERA rules and regulations, and other related legal and regulatory frameworks.
- It is compulsory for channel partners to undergo RERA training before taking the RERA exam in Maharashtra. This is 20 hours training program and 60% attendance is compulsory for registering examination. The RERA training program is designed to provide channel partners with an understanding of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA), its rules and regulations, and other related legal and regulatory frameworks.The RERA training program is essential for channel partners to stay updated with the latest regulatory developments in the real estate industry and ensure compliance with the law. - Exam Registration Process: To register for the RERA exam, channel partners need to visit the MahaRERA website and create a login ID. They can then fill in the application form and select the exam date and time slot. The application fee for the exam is Rs. 1,000.
- Validity: The RERA exam certificate is valid for a period of 5 years from the date of issue. Channel partners need to renew their registration with MahaRERA after every five years and update their RERA exam certificate details.
The Training shall be applicable for
(i) All individual real estate agents in case of individuals and authorized signatory
(authorized for making application for MahaRERA real estate agent registration) in
case of firms / companies f organizations (Other than Individuals).
(ii) All employees / staff / officers by whatever designation called working in firms /
companies f orgarrizations of real estate agents, who interact with homebuyers /
allottees for effecting transactions in real estate projects.
(iii) AII real estate agents registered with MahaRERA.
The training course syllabus content for the present shall contain the following:

Certification: On successful passing of examination, the candidates shall be provided certification i.e. a
Certificate of Competency shall be issued with unique certification number.
The certification number sha1l be required to be mentioned for registration / renewal or
continuation of registration of real estate agents with the Authority.
