  1. Deal Only with Registered Projects:
  • A real estate agent must ensure that the projects they market, advertise, or facilitate sales for are registered with RERA.
  1. Maintain Records and Documentation:
  • Agents must maintain and preserve records of:
    • Transactions for each project separately.
    • Books of accounts, agreements, and other documents related to their operations.
  • These documents should be available for inspection by authorities when required.
  1. Avoid Unfair Trade Practices:
  • Unfair practices include:
    • Making false or misleading claims about the services or project.
    • Representing that a project has approvals or certifications it does not possess.
    • Advertising or offering services that are not intended to be provided.
  1. Provide Accurate and Complete Information:
  • Agents must share all necessary information with buyers to help them make informed decisions, such as:
    • Project details, including approvals, registrations, and agreements.
    • The promoter’s credibility and the project’s legal status.
  • Agents must facilitate access to documents like title deeds, sanction plans, and agreements.

  • Agents must prominently display their RERA registration number at their principal place of business and all branch offices.
  • This number must also be included in:
    • Advertisements.
    • Marketing and promotional materials.
    • Sales documents.

  • Agents should act as a bridge between promoters and allottees, ensuring:
    • Transparent communication.
    • Timely delivery of project-related information.
    • Smooth execution of agreements.
  1. Adhere to Ethical Practices:
  • Follow all legal and ethical standards outlined in the RERA rules.
  • Avoid any activity that harms the interest of buyers, promoters, or other stakeholders.
  1. Renewal of Registration:
  • Agents must renew their RERA registration every five years.
  • They must comply with all rules and regulations for the renewal process.
  1. Facilitate Consumer Rights:
  • Agents should ensure that buyers (allottees):
    • Understand their rights under RERA.
    • Have access to project status updates.
    • Receive support in case of grievances or disputes.
